This pin was given as a “farewell and thank you for your service to the Club” to a former member of SI Lake Arrowhead, Dena George.
When given an invitation to our 35th Anniversary party, Dena sent a lovely letter and a donation to the Community Services Committee. She thought that this was an appropriate time to return Audrey’s pin “home” to Lake Arrowhead and encouraged us to use it as a Special Award Pin or whatever we wanted to do with it. The pin originally belonged to a very outstanding member of Soroptimist International of Lake Arrowhead, Audrey MacKay. Audrey was a Charter member of the club in 1977 and then went on to be very involved in Lake Arrowhead Community Projects as a Soroptimist. Audrey was the first president of the Dam Commission in Lake Arrowhead and a park was constructed and named after her over by Papoose Dam in Lake Arrowhead.

2012 is the first year this pin was added to the SIROW member recognition program. This pin symbolizes the contributions and efforts of a member who works "behind the scenes" working on a project or projects that the President feels needs to be recognized for all that the member has done during the past year.
