Jump In The Lake
This is the second year the club participated in a “Jump in the Lake” community fundraiser in February. Local community leaders raised money for charity by actually jumping in Lake Arrowhead from the Lake Arrowhead Resort Beach, with a water temperature around 39 degrees F, and an air temperature of about 45 degrees. Burrrrrrr.
It was very well attended by well over 150 locals in the community who cheered for their favorite “polar bears”. A total of 50 community leaders, firemen, and locals jumped in from the shore with safety personnel at the ready.
The event was a cooperative effort between Rotary, County Fire, the Lake Arrowhead Resort and the Arrowhead Lake Association and was met with enthusiasm. A total of $10,000.00 was raised from pledges through Rim Education Foundation, Soroptimist International of Rim of the World, Rotary Club of Crestline, Rotary of Lake Arrowhead and Sunrise Rotary of Lake Arrowhead and other mountain charities. The funds raised will stay in the mountain communities for various Soroptimist and Rotary charities.
